How to Measure Your Bust for the Perfect Bralette Fit

Getting the right fit is key to feeling confident and comfortable in your bralette. Follow these quick steps to measure your bust accurately at home:

What You’ll Need:

  • A soft measuring tape
  • A mirror (helpful but not required)
  • A non-padded bra or no bra for the most accurate results

Step 1: Measure Your Band Size (Underbust)

Wrap the measuring tape snugly around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Make sure the tape is level all the way around and lying flat against your skin.

Write down this number in inches.

  • If it’s an even number, that’s your band size.
  • If it’s odd, round up to the next even number. (For example, 31 rounds up to 32.)

Step 2: Measure Your Bust (Fullest Part)

Next, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, usually over the nipples. Stand up straight, don’t pull the tape too tight, and keep it level across your back.

Write down this number too.

Step 3: Find Your Cup Size

Subtract your band size from your bust measurement:

Bust measurement – Band measurement = Difference

Use this difference to estimate your cup size:

Difference (inches) Estimated Cup Size
1" A
2" B
3" C
4" D
5" DD/E
6+" Consider sizing up or a supportive style

Tips for Bralette Shopping:

  • Between sizes? Size up for comfort.
  • Wider ribcage, smaller bust? Try a smaller cup in a larger band size.
  • Looking for more support? Styles like the Halter Bralette or Sport Bralette offer extra lift.
